About the event
Join Student Icons this summer for our HBCU Youth Sewing Camp in Mansfield, Texas! This exciting 4-day fashion and sewing experience introduces youth ages 8–16 to beginner sewing skills while celebrating creativity, culture, and HBCU pride.
Participants will learn the basics of operating a sewing machine while designing and creating their own HBCU-inspired hoodie based on their chosen Historically Black College or University. Throughout the week, students will explore their selected HBCU’s history, colors, traditions, and culture while bringing their fashion vision to life.
The camp will conclude with a miniature fashion showcase finale where participants will proudly model their finished creations for family and guests!
