About the event
The Gift of Sewing is a free, donation-based sewing session created for beginners who own a sewing machine but may not feel confident using it yet. This class offers a relaxed, supportive environment where participants can learn the basic parts and functions of a sewing machine, practice simple techniques, and gain hands-on experience.
This is a BYOS (Bring Your Own Sewing Machine) class, though machines will be available for those who need one. Together, we’ll walk through machine setup, threading, basic operation, and complete an easy beginner-friendly project to take home.
This class is offered as a gift to the community in exchange for optional donations that support Student Icons, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to teaching the art and life skill of sewing to the next generation.
